Scanfrost 170L Single Door Refrigerator Review
This refrigerator is silver in color. It has a couple of selling points.
- It freezes fast.
- Has a slim build that fits into small spaces.
- Low energy consumption
- Cheaper than frost free models of the same size
Cooling Ability
This Scanfrost SFR 170 freezer operates using direct cool features so it cools very fast.
It doesn’t just cool the food items but also the surrounding air in the fridge.
This makes it excellent for products like ice cream. Of course, you can also use it to cool other food items.
But it doesn’t retain coolness for long after a power outage. It will preserve foodstuff for about a day after loss of power supply.
There is also the issue of frost buildup after a while. So you need to defrost it regularly to maintain optimum performance.

Another effect of it’s direct cool feature is the low energy consumption.
Since it’s method of cooling relies on normal convection without fans, less energy is required compared to frost-free models.

This Scanfrost SFR 92 fridge uses direct cool and has the following selling points:

To hasten the freezing speed, try and fill up the freezer to full capacity. It freezes better this way.

This is a large freezer with lots of freezing space.

Like other Scanfrost freezers, it takes a while to freeze and the coldness does not last long after loss of power supply.
I like how you can open one compartment while the other section remains sealed.
This makes this deep freezer to be 2 in 1.

Like I said, it’s virtually two freezers in 1. It is 496 L in capacity. So this deep freezer is more suitable for commercial purposes.
It’s great for cold rooms, meat Sellers, and stuff like that.
Power Rating
For a big unit like this, it manages power impressively. But the energy consumption is above 130 w.
A 3.5 kva generator can power this freezer although you would have to monitor any additional load so that you don’t overload the gen.

This Scanfrost freezer is the biggest size of Scanfrost deep freezers available in the market.
It is very similar to the Scanfrost SFL 511 freezer reviewed above. The only difference is that it has a larger capacity.

The freezing style is similar to the other Scanfrost freezers.
Size
This freezer is 550L. So it’s very large and suitable for commercial use. It is virtually 2 in 1 and has two separate partitions with separate doors.
Power Rating
It has a 5 star energy rating and actually works well on low voltage.
I estimate the power consumption to be about 145w. So you can power it using a 3.5 kva generator.

Durability
This freezer is very durable. There is no need to dwell too long on this. The compressor is of good quality, the body is sturdy and does not dent. The doors are done with a stainless steel finish.

Your freezer is a very bad freezer. Less than too year it is not cooling well again for 251L,took to your office 3 days 4 after warranty despite I have called fore the warranty expired, I was charged 50k for repairs for internal leakage
