This Hisense ac is another way the Hisense brand is trying to saturate the electronics market.

With curved edges and a sleek cylindrical frame, this ac looks modern and would be a noticeable upgrade to your interior decor. 

The LED display on the body complements the design and although the remote control is a handful, it does not feel cheap. The remote buttons are easy to press, responsive and the batteries last.

This Hisense air conditioner is 1.5 hp or 0.32 ton if you’re more familiar with the ton as a unit of measurement.

It is suitable for most normal-sized rooms like master bedrooms, one-room apartments, and staff offices. These rooms usually fall within the range of 19- 25sqm.

It will cool such rooms quickly and efficiently and the best part is that it would not leave you feeling damp or sticky. That damp or sticky feeling comes when the AC is too large for the room.

For larger corporate rooms with more sections like a bank hall or big church hall, you should consider getting a larger air conditioner, maybe 2.5hp.

Performance

The turbo function of this Hisense ac works as advertised. 

When you use it in an appropriately sized room, it can cool the room quickly. 

It takes roughly 9 minutes to cool a room from 38°c to 26° c.

So that’s really fast cooling and makes it perfect for Nigerian climate.  You would not be disappointed during those freakishly hot Nov-March months when the sun focuses all its strength on Just Nigeria.

The fan swing rate is just right and the AC is not a sluggish starter. The cooling effect can be felt almost immediately power is restored.

The noise level is ok. It is not silent but the sound is calm and peaceful. 

You can easily have a conversation while the fins move at the fastest speed.

Power Use

It’s a small air conditioner and since its not an inverter ac -- expect to pay over 300k for an inverter ac -- it draws up to 250 w. 

Most non-inverter air conditioners are energy suckers so that’s to be expected. Also as expected, this ac does not operate on low voltage.  

If you want to power it with a generator then any generator from 3.5 kva and above would suffice.

Other Features

So it comes with gold-plated fins. This is a selling point because air conditioner units with gold-plated fins last long. They last long because the gold protects the fins from corrosion.

The filters are placed outside which is convenient. 

All you have to do is detach the filter and clean off the dust and debris it may have accumulated.

I’ve already addressed the turbo function.

It lacks other functions like smart running or WiFi capabilities. Having said that, you will have to shell out loads of cash to get an AC with these features.

Warranty

It comes with a 1-year warranty which you can claim at any Hisense store close to you.

This AC is rightly priced when you consider the cost-benefit ratio. In a country like Nigeria where prices are on the high side, this AC is a great bargain.
