This Haier Thermocool 32 inch TV has a couple of selling points.

Design

This Haier Thermocool TV is really slim with a really thin frame. So it looks very modern. It’s as flat as a framed wall photo.

And it comes with wall hangers to hang it on the wall.

It doesn’t seem very durable like Tv sets of old but it is ok and can easily add class to a room because of it’s aesthetic appeal.

Display

This TV claims to have FHD display but at first inspection it seemed more like a HD ready TV.

Although this display became much better when I applied the best display settings.

Anyway thanks to the 3d comb filter and my tweaking of the settings, the display is very clear.

The brightness is also tolerable although not bright enough to watch in a brightly lit room.

For example on a sunny afternoon, you would have to pull the curtains down so that the light does not reflect off the screen.

It has a narrow viewing angle as I noticed fading when watching from the edges. But the fading is slight and won’t be bothersome.

The refresh rate is 60 hz and the screen handles fast scenes quite well. There is no blurring or flickering during fast scenes.

So I won’t say the display for this TV set is superb but it’s not bad either.

Sound

This is a 32 inch TV so I didn’t expect the sound to blow my mind and it didn’t.

The sound is loud enough to watch channels like if you’re listening to news from local stations.

But the sound does not satisfy me when it comes to watching movies whether from a flash drive or from a DVD player.

It just lacks that bass. But that’s to be expected since small TV sets don’t come with great sound.

Energy Consumption

This TV consumes low energy. The power rating is 65w. It will work well even on a 2.5 kva generator.

This TV can withstand low voltage without making weird sounds.

I can’t say for certain how long it will last. But judging by the lightweight (4 kg) and the slim frame, it’s an appliance that should be handled with care.
