Kiki New Gain LED Display Cordless Rechargeable Clipper

kiki-ng888-clipper-review

You need a clipper you can rely on for your grooming needs. This is why you are here to find out whether this clipper is worth your money.

This hair clipper from Kiki has most of the features you would expect from a cordless clipper. Below are some of its selling points

  • It has a cord and can also act as a cordless clipper. So, it is rechargeable and it takes about 4 hours to fully charge the battery.

  • The full battery lasts for 5 hours when new. That's enough time to tend to over 5 customers if you are a barber or own a salon.

  • The blade is sharp. You don't want a hair clipper with a dull blade because they are uncomfortable to use and beats the whole point of hair grooming with an appliance.

  • The low noise operation of this clipper is another feature that is useful to you.

A noisy clipper just makes you or your customer feel nervous during a haircut session.

If you are looking for a high powered, fancy hair clipper then this appliance may not be for you. But although it is basic, it gets the job done when you consider the price.

For a clipper currently priced below ten-thousand-naira, one good thing about it is that it does not get too hot after prolonged use.

This is usually the problem with cheap clippers. Apart from heating, the teeth are standard and replaceable if you ever need to do so.

This appliance also comes with LED display that shows the battery charge level.

This is pretty handy when you are using the cordless feature so that you don't run out of charge while working.

But you cannot use this clipper while charging it which to me makes it only a cordless clipper. If the appliance could also be used while charging, that would have been a huge advantage.

And it's not strong enough to handle wet hair. It may also struggle with very thick hair. So, if you have to use it on very bushy outgrown afro, then the clipper may struggle to function.

Usually, in cases like this, you may be required to use a scissors to trim down the hair a bit before using the clipper.

This is due to the fact that it uses a magnetic rotor motor which is strong for most hair types but struggles a bit when faced with really bushy or thick hair styles.

Finally, you don't need any elaborate process to maintain this clipper. Just don't use it while charging and try to add a little clipper oil to the teeth once in a while. So, this clipper does not require extra in terms of maintenance.

Should You Buy This Kiki New Gain NG-888 Clipper?

This depends on what you require from a clipper. If you skipped the whole review up to this point, then consider the main selling points for this clipper

  • It has LED display that shows you the battery level

  • It comes with four guide combs

  • It does not overheat and works with low noise.

So, this is a cheap, reliable, non-fancy clipper and if that is what you need then this clipper is the right fit for you.
