Hisense 50 Inch Display
The display for this TV is in the big leagues. It’s got a screen resolution of 3829 x 2160.
Wow, right?
The color saturation is brilliant. It’s got that crystal clear visuals you expect from a high end TV set.
Everything pops with this TV because of the high detail.
You can watch Spiderman 2 on this TV.
There’s a place where he perched from a tower and I was surprised to see extra definition that is normally blurred out or darkened on screens with lesser resolution.
The brightness is just as bright as that of Samsung.
Since the whites are really white, the contrast is superb.
It’s still a bit inferior to an OLED because the black is not pure black. But that’s just me being fussy.
All you will notice when viewing content on this screen is glorious popping color and sparkling clarity.
Yes it is truly 4k capable although most content would look like FHD since 4k content is kind of rare.
I’ve noticed that depending on the input, the quality of the display differs.
Content from a USB device looks slightly inferior to content from digital channels or streaming platforms.
Content from a Blu-ray player also looks quite better than USB content.
HDR content on this TV doesn’t look as good as expected with PS4 pro.
But the difference is not that much and the display is still stunning.
The screen refresh rate is 100 hz so it seamlessly displays fast motion scenes without fading out the display.
This also makes it a good monitor for gamers.
Since it has a game mode and the latency is well below 50 ms.
To improve the latency you can disable dynamic contrast and HDR.
It also has a wide viewing angle which is great considering the fact that it is a wide screen.
So you won’t notice blurring or fading out when you watch from the edges of the screen.
Hisense B7100UW Sound
The speakers are DTS enhanced. So sound is not lost to bandwidth problems especially when streaming.
It also has great speech clarity and the volume steps are well placed.
You can enjoy streamed content when you crank up the volume to 50 or 60.
What you really want to know is whether you need a home theater with this TV.
No, you don’t.

The power rating is below 120 w.
You can power this TV with even a 2.5 kva generator but you should be wary of voltage fluctuations.

The Hisense 50B7100UW runs on VIDAA U smart OS.
It has a nice customizable interface.
I like how responsive it is.
There is little pointer lag and streaming from platforms like Netflix doesn’t take so much loading time like with the previous versions of VIDAA.
It has an app store with some really generic apps in my opinion.
Since it’s not an Android TV, you can’t enjoy Google apps and stuff like that.
But it has great streaming platforms like Icflix, Amazon prime, BBC, Rakuten, DSTV now e.t c.
The direct access buttons on the remote are very convenient.
You can access Netflix by just pressing the Netflix button.
It also has voice command but the remote is not as intuitive as LG's magic remote.

The price for this Hisense TV usually falls within the 160,000 – 180,000 naira range.
