This budget Looka TV is not yet a household name like other popular brands. But it is a result of a partnership between Haier and Samsung.

Looka 32 Inch TV Review

Display

It’s got a crisp display. When I say crisp, I mean although it’s just an LED TV, it gives visuals similar to that of an OLED.

Considering the price, I find the display quite satisfactory. 

The display does not blur during fast-moving scenes which shows that the TV has a great refresh rate.

Also, the viewing angle is adequate for its size. You don’t notice any fading at the sides even if you watch from an angle.

Overall, I’ll give the Display 4.5 out of five stars. It doesn’t get five stars because it dims a bit when the current is low. 

Although to be fair, this dimming is probably due to its power-saving feature.

Sound

If you hope to pull your street down with sounds from this TV, I’ll advise you to get a stereo. The volume is not so loud. 

That’s normal with flat-screen TVs these days. There is no space for big speakers.

Also, it has an auto volume leveler that helps to regulate the volume for safe hearing. 

I once had a Sony TV that would start making a buzzing sound once you use it past a certain volume.

Naturally, this was one of the first things I checked for. This TV renders smooth sounds at any volume without delivering any annoying buzz.

The speakers are impressive and have that great bass quality most music lovers would appreciate.

So for sound, I’ll give this TV four out of five stars.

Tip: If you want a better sound experience, you don't have to spend so much on big speakers or a home theater.

You can get this brilliant Bluetooth speaker and connect it with an aux cord. This speaker is so cool, apart from the quality bass, it has flashing lights that can make your room seem like a dance hall.

Energy Consumption

The energy consumption is standard. It’s got a great power-saving feature. Also, it works seamlessly even with low current.

No need to worry about beeping sounds.

Remember as I stated earlier, the display dims a bit when the current is low.

But with a standby energy consumption of just 0.5 w, you don’t have to worry about your prepaid meter when using the Looka TV.

To measure its energy usage, I tested its performance on a 3.5kva generator. In the end, I found no noticeable difference between its performance using generator power and that of conventional power supply.

It would be great if it came with a battery but at the price it is going for, that would be a dream.

The energy consumption is impressive; it gets five out of five stars.

Is Looka TV a Smart TV?

What’s a Smart TV? A smart TV is simply one that can go online. Now, this is something this product excels at.  

It was clearly designed to surf the web and enable you to stream videos from your favorite networks like Netflix for example.

You can also watch YouTube videos, visit social media, and lots more.

It has Miracast. So yes you can view your apps, messages, emails wirelessly from your phone. You can even renew your satellite subscription via the TV.

For the smart feature, I’ll give it five out of five stars.

Portability/ Durability

This TV is very light like most flat screens these days. This lightness could be mistaken for fragility. 

I cannot say how durable it is except that it does well under stressful conditions like low voltage.

It can also be hung on a wall. Just remove the four bolts at the back and place your wall bracket. And to spice things up, it comes with a one-year warranty.

Looka TV Performance Compared With Other Brands

Because Looka is still an unknown brand most people wrongly assume that the TV cannot compete favorably with LG TVs for example.

But I’ve used a 32 inch LG TV before and there is no visible difference between the performance of that TV and that of this Looka TV.

I’ve come to realize that the quality is not in the brand name but in the product.

So from the angle of display, Looka lives up to expectations as well as any Samsung or LG TV of the same size.

From the angle of sound, Samsung outranks it. But the difference can be overlooked.

From the angle of smart features; not every 32 inch TV is smart but Looka TV excels at this. This gives it a great edge over competing brands.

So in comparison with other brands, I’ll give it four out of five stars.

Is the Looka 32 inch TV A Good Fit For You

As stated before, it’s not a popular brand. If you’re more interested in brand names or people’s opinions over product quality then this may not be the TV for you.

If you hope your neighbors can hear every program you watch, then this TV just won’t do the trick.

Since it’s a small TV, just 32 inches, it’s good for people who like to sit a bit far from the TV like about 10 to 12 feet away.

If you’re the type that loves to sit very close to the TV screen then this may not be for you. 

It’s not that the display is poor when you sit close but you get the best viewing experience from about 10 feet away.

This Looka TV is excellent for viewing centers, bedrooms and big sitting rooms.
